Yes, there was good progress on crime up that stalled out in the late 2010's, even before the pandemic sent things upward last year. There are probably lots of reasons behind it that I'm sure criminologists are looking at it.
It was at 24 and now you can add at least 3 from the mass shootings in three massage spa parlors in the metro area that claimed a total of 8 victims, all Asian females I believe (speaking of anti-Asian hate crimes).
If I was the mayor of these cities, I would be setting up a consortium between them to get to the root of the increase in this gun violence.
It is not specific to just one city, which means that it is something larger and needs to be addressed and resolved.
