Los Angeles wins on everything except COL and Fast Food (which is a weird criteria, but ok).

I’d say Los Angeles, except for housing prices.

LA wins most of these except for the following.

Suburbs: It depends what you want. More laid back functional suburb, Dallas is it.

Sports teams: LA easily wins overall, but Dallas has the Cowboys who battle with the Patriots for the premier NFL team But even then, LA's new stadium is much nicer so it depends what you're looking for.

Laid back, perhaps. Of course, that's a subjective criteria because not everyone seeks out "laid back" suburbs.

But what do you mean by "functional?" LA's suburbs are easily just as functional (in fact, I'd say more so) than Dallas'.

Is it just those two counties or suburbs overall? If it's just OC, then hard to see how that loses many criteria outside of affordability. It's hard to ignore that it has really nice beach cities, but even ignoring those it wins easily.

But if it's including suburbs overall, then that's a lot harder. LA likely has both the best suburbs and the worst. And it has a lot of the worst. Outside of OC and coastal areas, many and maybe most, LA suburbs have poor performing public high schools and have many of the same problems that the city of LA has. You have to pay a lot to live in a place with decent schools. Great schools cost even more.

In N Out versus Whataburger?

It's not a criterion for me, but I don't think that many places have the number and variety of fast food choices that we have in the LA area. Especially if you lump diners in with fast food.

Texas has both so if that's all your using to debate, Texas win. FYI I prefer In n Out.

To me, food trucks count as fast food so LA wins here.

In all fairness, Dallas has both, lol.

But yeah, when I'm considering a city to move to, I don't think to myself "I wonder which city has the best/most fast food restaurants?"
