Sorry, but you're telling me I don't know what is and isn't comfortable to me? I have family scattered around Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. I grew up in the Chicagoland area. I also know that depending on where the lake is located can determine whether or not it is comfortable to swim in yet. I own a pool here in Phoenix and won't get in until at least mid-late May.

That article was written in April... By the time summer hits and we get 90 degree days, the lakes are plenty warm to swim in. I grew up swimming in the public pools in Mpls in the summer as a child.

Plenty warm is subjective. Today's water temperature in Minnesota is 73.4. According to the World Health Organization, 78-86 degrees is generally comfortable and safe, but I understand water should be at least 70 degrees - that's still quite chilly for me. The official water temperature required for Olympic swimming competitions is between 77-82 degrees.

Wow, only 73 in August. I was thinking it would at least get to the high 70s. I'm with you with Liam, that is not very comfortable swimming for me. I'm sure it feels refreshing on a hot day.
