Again though, I guess youve never eaten in Houston.

I always wanted to go down to Houston and try the viet-cajun. There are a few places around me with it, but it's like BBQ, where you just want to have it where it comes from.

I would be curious, are there metro areas were the premier dining scene is outside of the central city?

Before anyone asks, reason I didn’t put SF at the top is because their ethnic food seems to have taken a hit recently. I’m sure COL has something to do with this.
I'm curious, where did you eat when you were in Columbus? I think it has quite a good restaurant scene for its size. There is a surprisingly good number of Japanese and Somalian restaurants.

Is there any 1.5 million plus metro that has a genuinely bad food scene? I see a lot of people putting Indianapolis in the below-average category but Indianapolis also seems to rank low in every city-data ranking.

How is that even possible? You want us to make two rankings? The sizes of the city propers vary too greatly.

Phoenix comes to mind, as most of the good eats are in Scottsdale.

Detroit may also fall into that categoric with the disproportionate wealth/ population being in the suburbs. Though probably less so in last 10 years with the prolific resurgence of downtown/midtown/cork town.

I can see Miami being one of those places. Miami Beach, Aventura, Bal Harbour, Key Biscayne maybe.
