LA is the worst, and a lot of the cities along the coast in the California are bad too: Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo. Didn't notice many around Pasadena though.
I also saw a lot of homeless in Oklahoma City; could've just been the area though. Salt Lake City is really bad around Pioneer Park and on the light rail.

I suspect Oklahoma City has developed a reputation of being fairly kind to the homeless and so draws them.
Charlotte is going to be up there in the next few decades, many moving from even more expensive areas, prices for rent and buying are skyrocketing along with stagnant wages.

I don't mean this to be invective, but LA has a homelessness situation akin to some of the mega cities in South and Southeast Asia. Given the size of the city it's by far the "worst".

Was just recently in LA and spent a good amount of time in the city proper and Pasadena and totally agree. For the locals, is Pasadena doing something "special" or is it just a matter of it's location. It is a bit of a hike to get to LA proper from there.
