I’ll give LA some credit too. I think Ocean Drive in Miami and Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills are about the only two places I go look on Google Streetview and definitely see some sort of >$250,000 sports car.
Many of the cars rolling up and down Collins and Ocean Drive are rented. Whereas, I bet most cars driving around Beverly Hills are owned. And not saying Miami isn't a top contender for luxury cars, but South Beach can be deceiving.

I see quite a few G Wagons, Range Rovers, Porches, and nicely upgraded Mercedes and BMW models in my area. And someone in my building drives a Bentley Bentayga (I see it in the garage). Overall less flashy than LA or Miami, but these are all $80k+ cars.

I always notice cars even though I don't have one anymore.

Never in NYC, at least with high-end sports cars (not talking Tesla's here, not sure why everyone keeps bringing them up, they are ubiquitous). To someone else's earlier point, anyone with that kinda ride keeps it elsewhere. I see Ferrari's and the occasional Lambo in Hoboken, but my strong assumption based on peeking into the drivers seat is that it's some suburban jabroni cruising the strip and trying to look cool (and failing, lol).

.
Many of those cars on touristy Collins and Ocean Drive are indeed rented and many are exotic (Ferrari, Lambo, etc) as opposed to luxury (BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, etc).

In Brickell, far more residential, I probably pass 2 dozen+ owned exotic (Bentley, Rolls, Lambo, Ferrari, McLaren, an occasional Bugatti) and hundred plus luxury cars on a daily basis. Someone who owns an exotic typically has a “stable” of cars. I know one gentleman who is a collector and has a carbon fiber Bugatti, McLaren, and—for good measure—a Conquest Knight XV SUV among his stable.

Taking this further, many of the luxury yachts one sees on Biscayne Bay are rented as well.

I agree completely with the bolded. You cannot go anywhere in the LA/OC area with seeing dozens of Teslas. They are more common than Toyotas. If that's a "luxury" car, you could have fooled me.

The only place in OC where real luxury cars like Ferrari, Lambo and McClaren are common is in the beach cities, particularly on the weekend. It's quite fun to go out for Saturday or Sunday breakfast in, say, Laguna, sit outside and see them drive by.

Also drive through Newport Beach on PCH and you will see all the dealerships.

In my particular city, I might see one of those real luxury cars once a week or so.

That’s a good point, you’re right that a lot of the exotic cars are for rent.

There’s a broader point too that there’s a certain flashy culture in South Beach. It’s wealthy no doubt, but I wouldn’t say it’s wealthier than other cities in Florida like Palm Beach and Naples. They can match Miami Beach’s affluence, but have fewer exotic cars per capita based on my observations.

For the most part yes, though I think Newport leads Laguna. However, I've seen a lady pick up her kids in a Rolls at my kid's elementary school.

G Wagons, Bentleys, Maseratis are also a dime a dozen in Irvine.

LMAO. I notice the same thing in Hoboken too. idk if they were Lambo/Ferrari's, but definitely a luxury car of some sort trying to front up on the crowds.

Also the Heights in JC.

Yeah like in most cities they would be in a garage rather than on the streets.

New York, like Philly/Boston, is definitely less obnoxious about luxury cars. Youll see them casually in residential areas (Like Hoboken, or Brookline or Greenwich CT or Jamaica Estates), but not riding down Broadway or Newbury St.... as you would see in LA/Miami lol.

Also, weather. NYC/Boston get lots of snow. A lot of would be Ferrari/Lambo/Range Rover/Porshe drivers pick up nice Subarus or what not... especially if they ski (very common in families with incomes over 250k), or live in a hillier suburb. I was in Alpine and almost exclusively saw Subaru's and mountain trek/snow vehicles.

I was in LA earlier this year and didn't see that many luxury cars besides in Beverly Hills. But I see a similar amount of luxury cars in Buckhead Atlanta as well (Recently saw a Pagani Huayra and Bugatti Chiron at Buckhead Village). Miami has a lot of luxury cars around Bal Harbour and South Beach.

We’re just not as showy as southern cities. Culture difference
