I dont see Las Vegas on the list. I'm always seeing McClarens and Ferraris along that stretch of I-15 near Vegas. A lot of those driving are not owners though and there are several places in the Vegas area where you can rent a supercar for the day. At one company you get to take the car out on the road course at Las Vegas Motorspeedway.

I agree LV should be on the list. But in my personal experience, I don't see supercars in Vegas as frequently as I do in Miami.

One theory I have is that fewer tourists rent cars in Vegas, though I have no data to back that up. I've never seen a real reason to ever rent a car in Vegas since nearly 100% of the entertainment is inside of hotels. But clearly people do rent cars there all the time.

Miami is one of the most scenic cities to drive in America and nothing in Vegas can compare to driving across the Macarthur Causeway with the top down. It is a sublime experience. Only the Pacific Coast Highway really compares, imo.

I don’t think I’ve ever made it across without getting stuck in gridlock. Haha

You make a good point though! The bridge to Key Biscayne is really nice too.

Where are some counties in North Jersey? Several would be on that 500k+ earner list.

This is all well and good but remember Miami has a lot of Russian and Brazilian oligarchs who aren’t counted and Atlanta has a lot of entertainers who do not pay taxes as well

Shocked to see SF has more than all of Texas combined? Can’t be right

And it takes a PhD in Quantum Physics from Stanford to deduce that well off people from DC, SF, etc might spend their money on things others than exotic cars—the topic of this thread— just like someone on this forum might think only bus boys, tourists and those coming over on rafts are driving Hondas made to look like exotic cars, all income is reported and all wealth only comes from reported W-2 income (especially by rich people who also pay more taxes than they need to), and SoFla and Atlanta only have impoverished residents.

Did I miss anything?…sure hope Jeff Bezos considered that before deciding to move to El Salvador North since he and Turo rental agency are the only ones in the metro and entire Southeast who can afford exotic cars..Lol

You can buy a much nicer house for 500m in Miami compared to Seattle or SF that’s for sure. Miami and Atlanta is the land of opportunity.

Don’t need to be rich to rent lambos apparently.

Also, no way that there are tax cheats outside of Miami.

One can buy a house for that amount, might not be in a neighborhood or condition you or I would want to live in. That wasn’t always the case. Both cities have their nice parts and bad parts. I’m far less familiar with Atlanta but $500K isn’t getting you anything close to a nice house in Coastal Miami; not even going to get you a very nice 1BR condo, talking desirable coastal (beach and bay) communities (and not necessarily beachfront) either.

Agree, don’t need THAT much to rent an exotic car (friend of mine rented out his Aston Martin for $400/day through Turo) and cities such as Miami and Vegas do attract tourists who get off on that but don’t sell short the number of people (regardless where their wealth comes from, legally or otherwise, and how it is or is not measured/reported) who live here and own them (and don’t still live on mamas couch, though this may be applicable to some). Many who own an exotic often have more than one.

Quite a few also spend money on annoying, noise pollution custom exhaust systems—be they for Hondas or Toyotas as well as Lambos and other exotics.

There are a lot of reasons reported income might not be a good metric...

Let's settle this, Lamborghini reported 1,625 sales in the first half of 2023. The two top markets were California and Florida taking 25% and 19% of total sales respectively. On a per capita basis this works out to 1 Lamborghini per every 96,591 people in Californina versus 1 Lamborghini per every 70,543 in Florida.

California: 39,240,000 / (1,625 * .25) = 96,591
Florida: 21,780,000 / (1,625 * .19) = 70,543

So on a per captia basis, at a state level, Florida had the most Lamborghini sales.
