Violent crime seems to be down yoy, but the media is freaking out. What the hell.

Philly still down significantly. It has 41 so far compared to 62 in 2023 and 72 in 2022. Shooting incidents are down 35% and shooting victims are also down more than 40% from last year so it’s not just a case of luck. Really promising news so far this year.

Boston total for 2/21: 1 Murder.

The last murder was on 1/1, iconically… so nearly two months without a murder. Wow.

This time in 2023 there were 8 murders. Hopefully this trend continues but things tend to happen in waves in Boston

I didn't want to write anything until February ended.

From what I remember, 2022 was not bad, but picked up at the end of the year and that carried until early 2023. Then things slowed down.

Hopefully we can keep this trend in Boston and maybe some of it will rub off on Springfield.
