Seattle - 4 in the last 10 days, up to 9 for 2024. Averaged about 20 for an entire year during the 2010s.
Portland - holding at 14, had 20 for the entire year in 2016.
San Francisco - holding at 2. Property crime remains very high but homicides remain very low.
San Jose - 8. Most recent was a bizarre choking incident at a liquor store.
Oakland - 13. Few will likely ever get solved.
Los Angeles - 46 vs. 40 same time last year. Overall not a terrible rate for a city of 3.8 million, but like SF property crime remains a challenge.

Trying to find good sources for San Diego and Phoenix.

Philly ends February with 48 homicides (down from 69 last year); the lowest since 2019
shootings, 163(down from 266 last year); the lowest since 2016

The city should finish the year with pre-pandemic numbers at this rate.

Is that official yet? All we know, it could’ve been some kind of double suicide. Seems unlikely, but we should wait for the BPD to say one way or another, no?

That's what I'm thinking. I can't seem to find any updated information about their deaths.
