DC is now at a -36% reduction in homicides YTD with only 30. In 2023, DC had 47 YTD at this point. It will be interesting keeping up with this moving into the summer. Could DC reach or surpass a -50% reduction in homicides? Only time will tell.

a 19 y/o man was shot and killed last night in the Westwood area of Portsmouth, a rather quiet and well-off area. That's 8 for the year.

Portsmouth has a double homicide on their hands, just several hours ago. That's 3 in the last 24 hours, pushing it to 10 for the year.

10 shot, 5 killed yesterday alone in Chicago. Looks like this will be the 14th straight year Chicago will lead the nation in homicides while only being the 3rd largest city.
