heres east st louis:

https://www.city-data.com/city/East-S...-Illinois.html

scroll down until you see the murder stats. now, compare that to hunters point.

east st louis: pop. 28,996 with 30 murders in 2007.
hunters point: pop. 20,322 with 24 murders in 2007.

east st louis has the highest murder rate ive ever seen (101 per 100,000) so thats why i keep using it as a comparison in case your wondering.

damn. i just remembered east st louis is a city, but it should still count as a neighborhood because it's so small and its neighborhoods probably only have like 100 people in them. so yea, we'll count it as a neighborhood.

Bayview-Hunters Point, San Francisco, California - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I never said the HP wasnt bad. I lived in SF and I know its bad! I do however believe that the HP isnt as bad as some other ghettos. Your link did not support anything contrary to my belief.

I was surprised to see that hunters point was only 60% black though...

You cannot compare a city with a hood. Think about it. A city has to allocate their police force to certain areas while a hood can and is iften neglected.

In fact your comparison actually weakens your argument and suggest that east saint louis has hood(s) that are rougher. It has 8k more folks and 6 more murders. If the HP was on par with eas saint louis hood(s) it should of beat it by some margin. Size is not a factor in crime rates so a smaller hood in east saint louis would be comparable with the HP. I'll see what I can find...

That surprised you?!? They are literally tearing down the projects where a lot of the blacks live in order to gentrificate the neighborhood and driving the blacks to other areas of the bay or sacramento.

overall crime rates (ie rape, assault, auto theft ect) yes, there are many ghetto's that are worst than hunters point. decay? once again, many more ghetto's that are way worst. but when it comes down to murder rates there are only 2 cities that beat hp and thats irvington, nj and east st louis, il. other than that, you'd be hard pressed to find another place with a murder rate of 90+ per 100,000. that was my point. but, overall it ain't the worst

no, it didnt weaken my argument. i was showing you how hp can stack up to a city with the highest murder rate in the country. i openly admitted that irvington and east st louis are more dangerous than hp when it comes to murders. those are the only 2 i can actually find with higher murder rates than hp.

another thing. most of the "hoods" in esl are either deserted or have low populations so its hard to compare its neighborhoods. est lost like 80,000 people from its city limits anyway. there are also only 40 cops (statistics say 2 per 1000 people) and its economy is based off a small casino on the edge of town, so i'd say its neglected just like any neighborhood in the usa. so why do you say i can't compare it?
