I have a serious question for you guys. I want to know what your reasoning is for some of the things you say. I want you all to tell me you reasons behind each of these statements.
The north has more character than the south.
The south has no diversity.
There isn't any good weather in the south.
The south has no culture.
I'm from the North. I have never said any of these things, nor do I believe any of them. I would find it hard to believe that many people actually believe any of these things, espeically if they had spent any time traveling through the South. Even if it were true that posters on this forum say things like this you need to keep in mind that C-D posters are not necessarily representative of the nation as a whole. Not every location in the South has character, diversity, culture, and good weather, of course, but the region as a whole has plenty of culture, diversity, character, and, depending on one's personal opinions about weather, "good weather."
I know of 2 people who watch Nascar. One is a redneck from small town Maine, the other is actually a very wealthy friend who grew up on Long Island and owns a condo Battery Park City (lower Manhattan). She said she's redneck at heart and wants to move to NC sooooo bad. Is obsessed with Nascar and loves the typical cowboy, strong southern accents, etc. I told her she doesn't belong in NYC if that's what she's looking for, lol. She keeps trying to find bars that have bull riding and nascar, but none seem to, haha.
rachael, you have no idea how that comment made my day
i can not stop laughing
