Yes, good analogy.

Although Kensington Avenue is unfortunately in worse shape in terms of socioeconomic challenges (pointing that out before someone else does with inevitably more snark), the "bones" are eerily similar to Broadway Avenue.

As in there are tightly-packed houses and single story convenience stores and/or restaurants on the corners of major intersections. Just a lot more wood than brick in the Boston area vs NYC. The styles of houses seem close, though, despite the difference in material. Those definitely aren’t Philly or Baltimore -style townhomes he’s driving by.
That looks very different. I'll post the video again.

Your link actually looks a lot like Cleveland.

That Google Street view looks like Queens.

I would disagree with that. Not all rowhouses look like the ones you see in West Philly. There are long stretches of Ditmas, Utica, Pennsylvania, Remsen and swathes of East Flatbush/Canarsie/East NY that have a striking similarity to the Northeast (Phila) but with less greenery. Both have a more auto-centric build with warehouses and some light industrial mixed in.

There's really nothing like this anywhere outside of NYC. And this is where the comparisons start to break down as you start moving more into the "median" Brooklyn neighborhood.

Wanna share a time stamp or something for me to focus on. Hard to get what you’re saying while looking down the middle of the street.

Better yet just give me a google street view.

You can just take a look at the thumbnail or the houses at the 1:52 mark of the video. Where in Boston looks like that?

Aesthetically, I think the easy and obvious answer is Philly, but the disparity in population density is too great for any other city to have quite the same "feel."

Brooklyn - 38K ppsm (71 sq. mi.)
North Beach (SF) - 38K ppsm (0.49 sq. mi.)
Columbia Heights (DC) - 37K ppsm (0.85 sq. mi.)
Greater Center City - 32K ppsm (7.7 sq. mi.)
Back Bay/Beacon Hill - 31K ppsm (0.9 sq. mi.)

Damn, it kinda resembles certain areas of Frankford and Oxford Circle in the beginning 3 minutes.
