Yeah, you've said only a million times. Trust me once you make it to Arkansas or Mississippi, you'll be begging to get back to "dirty, Marxist Jersey." Plus you should be glad since a Republicant will be your gov. next year.

I've been to the Deep South numerous times throughout the years, so I would say that is an incorrect assumption.

Of course, I don't want to sound bitter. Some people might enjoy living in states like NJ and MD. I'm content in saying I gave it a shot.

As for the election, I voted for Christie and was quite pleased with the results, but my dislike of the Northeast runs far deeper than a disenchantment with NJ politics.

I see the midwest and especially the south are getting dragged through the mud again. The northeast and the west coast are no paradise, so I dont understand why those people think they are better than the rest of the nation. The northeast is full of rude, pushy arrogant people who for the most part are socialist and dedicated to a nanny state federal goverment. They are almost un american. The left coast is no better, California "the land of fruits and nuts" is the source of most of what is degenerate about America. Sex, drugs and immorality are all that come out of the left coast. I think most people out there are at least 10% silcone now after all the plastic surgerys they have had. Ill take the flat cold midwest anyday, or the hot humid old confederacy over the so called pardise of the Northeast and west coast. Some of the nicest most underated states in the union in my opinion are Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Indiana. These places are constantly run down in forums like this, but they represent real America. All of them are far better places to live than some overcrowded commie haven like Massachusetts or New Jersey or California. Keep bashing us, but we live better than you do, our houses are much cheaper and we have lots of space to spread out in. We have lots of water, good farm land and the best hunting in the nation.

the picture that comes to mind after reading this post is a hick or if you prefer redneck humping Sarah Palins leg.......

Theres lots of water in the east coast as well. You can keep your good "farm" land and best "hunting. I'll take international restaurants, foreign tourists, culture, etc.. over those you've mentioned any day! also on the drugs coming out of the left coast... you do know that the midwest is meth capital right? your post if full of stereotypes about the west and northeast coast.. I thought you didn't like that... whispers- hypocritical a bit?

I honestly think people like him help drive certain stereotypes about the midwest and south. I question everything I put in bold about his post....

You are upset that people have misconceptions about the midwest yet you stereotype and insult people from the West and East Coast....how does that make sense? You probably have never even been out of the midwest before.

I'm not sure whether the poster in question has left the Midwest or not, but for someone who's lived in the East Coast for almost two and a half decades now, he's spot on.

I live in "real" America(the south) and everyone down here isn't as patriotic as you make them out to be. ALL of America is REAL America, there are REAL veterans from places up North. REAL America is just a term made up by right-wing conservatives to CONDEMN anyone not living in rural areas.

Spot on Polo!

But just like it is wrong for right-wing conservatives to CONDEMN everyone not like them, it is equally wrong for left-wing liberals to think they are intellectually superior and look down their noses at everyone else.

It would be nice if people learned to respect other people's opinions, this is supposed to be a democracy!
