"Smiley expects the Drew League to vault to a higher level next summer as he’s heard rumors that Durant and Stephen Curry could join the Drew League team their Warriors teammate Thompson plays on. Brown said that LAUNFD will have Harden, Young and an NBA All-Star to be revealed later next season, too."
No, USA Basketball this year either. Check out: Jennings, Harden, Derozan, George, Thompson, Ball, Boatwright, World Peace, Mcgee, Young, Baron Davis, C Ware Jr., T Ross, Drummond, Stanley Johnson, Clarkson, Cutino Mobley, Randle, and MORE!

LOL it would benefit the Drew League if they never mentioned JaVale McGee's name as a headlining talent ever again.
McGee is a worthlessly clumsy and trash NBA talent. True garbage.
You must have missed my other clear posts with links that show the states with highest number and percentage of D1 athletes. These links were as recent as this year. Look this whole thread has nothing to knock any particular city for NOT producing talent, it's about which city/metro is tops. I'm talking about longevity not one year.
Your statement about vs Indianapolis is factually incorrect with regards comparing to DC or Maryland:
Third tier ... lol. It wasn't my statement it was the information that I provided that totally countered your rhetoric. Bear in mind the links I provided were recent links not decade old links. With that in mind I know you will be a thrilled over this link.
Two things can be taken from this link. (1)Indiana there are currently more players from Indiana than Maryland in the NBA. (2) Currently per 1 million, there are more NBA player from Indiana than Maryland. Those are the cold facts my friend.
this boston starting 5 would mash up any team in the country:
Quote:
g: dana barros
g: rumeal robinson
g: shabazz napier
f: nerlens noel
c: patrick ewing
* player must play at least 1 year high school in the metro. using their best nba season from basketball-reference.com as comparison:
orb: +150%
drb: +75%
ast: +150%
stl: +200%
blk: +200%
tov: -150%
pf: -75%
pts: 100%
going by csa would include michael beasley and michael cater-williams but thats too greedy.
also, surprised to find out travis best and vinny del negro played in springfield (sleeper).

For Philly
C Wilt Chamberlain
F Richard Hamilton
F Paul Arizin
G Kobe Bryant
G Earl Monroe
Bench
Rasheed Wallace
Tyreke Evans
Jameer Nelson
Kyle Lowry
Donyell Marshall
Aaron McKee
Wali Jones
Tom Gola
Cuttino Mobley
Guy Rodgers
Malik Rose
but I don't see the Boston squad beating the Philly one TBH, at least not in a 7 game series

Except that this thread is about metro areas and DC *city* has 6 more, not to mention VA which has another 7. Even with just MD/DC that's 19 vs 17 for the whole state of Indiana.
Now from there how many are actually in one metro of Indianapolis? I don't have the entire break down of the VA players and what part of the state they're from, but at least a few of their 7 are from DC metro. So that could be anywhere from 19-26 players in DC's metro region depending on the VA breakdown. 19-26 > 17, and that 17 in Indiana we don't know what cities they are from.
Again Indy would be a 2nd or 3rd tier city by itself, as a state sure Indiana could be 2nd tier. This is no knock because the talent there is pure, just saying there is a slight gap.
Actually the more I look at it, pretty amazing that tiny little MD and DC literally only trail California and Texas in the entire country with current NBA players, further proving my point... thanks for posting.

You do realize that Indiana population is just slightly larger than Maryland? Also I was addressing your claim of Maryland having more basketball players per capita. You do remember posting that claim.? My link just merely debunked that claim. Don't get me wrong, Maryland produces but so does Indiana. Just count the players and coaches in the hall of fame. Like it are not the state has graffitied the basketball world. Btw Indiana has a little over a half a million more people than Maryland.

Ok, your per capita list was for NBA, my per capita list was for NCAA talent, also your list only covered one season, the link I posted was slightly more comprehensive and covered at least about the past 3 years or so.
Per capita, DC is considered a state (for obvious reasons), and it's 1st in current NBA players born there according to your link. Indiana is third, and Maryland is fifth.
In my link I posted as a state Maryland is first in the nation in producing NCAA talent, where 5% of high school players were recruited to play D-1 basketball between 2013-2016. Followed by North Carolina, Georgia, Nevada, and Virginia rounding out the top 5 per capita over the past three or four years.
So your link does not "debunk" my claim. In fact, it makes things more apparent, because we see how much DC (one city)and Maryland a state produce in comparison to the entire state of Indiana, not just Indianapolis metro.
