So basically it revolves around Hollywood. Just as I suspected. I can't think of one actor type I'd actually enjoy being around, so I guess it doesn't appeal much to me. Oh well, strokes, folks, different.
The biggest beef I have with this list is that it included Houston, because I despise tourists for the most part. Clueless, self-absorbed, lost, bewildered, fidgeting with their GPS when they're supposed to be paying attention to what they're doing behind the wheel, the "hip" cities can have it all. I probably wouldn't visit Houston, but that's because I live here.
Another stupid Forbes List. These things are like 5th grade assignments for journalism students.
Using overnight is silly, I'll bet if you use 3 nights it'll come out
Location: The land of sugar... previously Houston and Austin

What is your deal with Houston? Really, it's getting REALLY old on here. If where you live is so much more awesome, you shouldn't have probably a hundred threads on here where you have to comment so negatively on somewhere else. Somewhere you've never even really been. Then the evidence is given to you, in order to try and educate you, and you either don't reply or come back with a complete denial or excuse.
It's basically like internet bullying, if you ask me.

Yes, it does have more. But saying it makes it look like a joke is a little overboard (not to mention rude.) I said "don't feed" it, but I guess some people just can't help themselves.

Great, here we go again. Wasn't it already covered earlier in the thread, that tourist traps and culture are not the same thing?

I honestly don't see how, they're all major world cities, I never knew Paris was in the same league as NYC, London & Tokyo either, I guess you learn something new everyday.

I've lived here over 20 years and you would have a difficult time finding any Houstonian outside of this forum that would say we are a cultural city. Most Houstonians would tell you that the city has very little to offer to the locals and even less to offer to tourists. The more we try to convince people we are a cultural city, the less weight our arguments will ever carry when it comes time to defend the city in a more valid thread. I still think Houston doesn't rank in the top 25. I'd love to get the opinions of people who visited the city for it's culture and not for business or to see family or friends. But I doubt you will find anyone outside the Houston metro or Texas that have come here for culture alone.
If I lived outside of Houston and I had time off from work or school to take a vacation I could think of 100 places I'd go to before Houston.
I could think of a hundred as well, but none would be other cities
They would all be national parks or wilderness areas.
I have always had a total blast every time I have been to Houston, as much fun as I have had in any other city and more than just about every other city
Now step out into the real world and you'll see how much your beloved city is really loved. In the south, NYC isn't the most favorite; southerns flock to Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, or Houston. We'd go with LA over NYC. You have people in the north who see these cities as somewhere to live the American dream.

Of course all those cities are in the south.
Heres something read within the last couple of pages of this thread.
Having lived in both cities, I can state that neither has an advantage with respect to culture (e.g., museums, opera, etc.), neither is more multicultural than the other, neither has better transit, and neither is more important on the world stage. It really boils down to which city you find to be more physically appealing. Many prefer NY, I prefer London. Nevertheless, both cities are the world's best at the present time.
