When a parent was threatening punishment, they were going to 'get your grease.'
When someone was baffled, they were 'left.'
If something was cool, it was 'geese.'
If somebody was overly chatty or hyper, my mother would say that they were 'wound up like a two-dollar ingersoll.'
Our housekeeper used to refer to loose women as 'heifers'...my sisters and I loved that one!

Don't forget "Shawty". It's ATL's version of "Jawn".

You know we said "shawty" allot when I was growing up. Like even with some people every other word was "Shawty this" or "Shawty that". Cant speak for the whole city, but they really dont say Shawty around my way anymore, it kind of died out around the early 2000's. People now say "bruh" more than anything really. Same with people calling Atlanta "the ATL", some still say it but most just say "the A". Its like when those terms "shawty" and "ATL" became so popular in other places outside of Atlanta, it kind of became played out to us.........

same here...i hear bruh...and 9.5/10 I say the A and not ATL. People still say patnah (a.k.a. partner). This might just be me and my friends but we say "too through" if something looks a hot ass mess (that's another term we use a lot). Ratchet (crunk) is definitely hot right now. I don't know if this is Atlanta, or I've just been around people from different cities, but I say what's good a lot.

It's funny you mention "where they do that at" cuz just this weekend I heard somebody say it and never ever heard it used like that before. I thought they were being literal and literally told them where they did "that at." lol, my people were definitely ridin' me for a minute.

Pittsburgh takes the cake for most slang not used anywhere else in the country. There's too much to even list here, just go to this website. PITTSBURGHESE .com

It's like Pittsburghers made up their own language. I wouldn't even call it "slang" because many Pittsburghers don't even realize words like "gumband" or "nebby" or are not spoken in any other cities!
