I love both skylines. LA has a much more memorable skyline cuz of how often people see it on TV and in movies. But I'm going with Miami. It's the 3rd in the country and yet still very underrated.

Miami's skyline will be a monster in the next 5-10 years.

Brickell World Plaza is under construction and when it's finished it will be the tallest building in Miami/Florida. The Met 3 Building is under construction and will be the tallest residential building south of New York. The Brickell Citicentre is under construction, comprising of several high rises. The One Bayfront Plaze has been approved and will be a 1,010 foot tower. There are dozens more buildings that have been approved for construction. If things go as schedule and the economy stays steady then Miami's skyline will bring any many great additions.

Miami is nice, but LA has mountains, so I give it to that city. LA is very smoggy though, but Miami also gets its bad air quality sometimes.

Los Angeles is done, past its prime. It was never meant to be a great city anyhow with the limited resources and how easily smog forms. Count on Miami to beat L.A. within two decades.

if the economy gets better you will see all the approved buildings in LA start breaking ground as well as in Miami, in LA, LA Central, Wilshire Grand, Grand Avenue (4), Metropolis (4), 755 Figueroa, Concerto North Tower, and many more, plus the adition of Farmers field and the expanded convention center will generate more projects in Downtown LA. there is already two buildings ready to break ground in these monthes, the mariott courtyard tower, and 888 south olive.

There's nothing "dead" or "dying" about LA, really. Anyone who actually lives or has traveled here recently can attest to this.

LA's skyline to me seems more powerfull. lol Not sure how to explain that, but Miami has a beautiful skyline which, statistically is actually bigger than LA's, can somebody verify that?

Now, to all those people saying sh-t like: "LA's skyline is unimpressive for a city it's size" you need to stop. Americans are so obsessed with skylines that they seem to forget about the actuall city itself. You know, the PEOPLE that actually make the city what it is. Paris has a skyline similar to LA's in appearance though I think it's a tad smaller. Yet you never hear people complaining about how it's so "pathetic for a city it's size"
