Not true.
It's not uncommon for Dallas to have many days of triple-digit temperatures in the summer. Very rare in Houston, as it's near the water. You're right about the humidity though.
This is true. Yes Dallas has hotter days in the summer because the humidity is lower. With low humidity the temperature goes way up during the day and way down at night. Even though Dallas gets hotter than Houston in the summer it still feels a little cooler because of the lower humidity. Since Dallas is further north it's going to be slightly cooler. The heat index is what matters. The heat index is how hot it actually feels. The heat index is the combination of temperature and humidity. Houston's heat index will be slightly higher than Dallas's.
I think I can read into this a little bit. One thing Ive noticed about Dallas is the black community tries harder to keep itself seperate way more so than Ive seen in other cities like Houston or LA. Latinos, Whites, and Asians in Dallas are integrated quite well, but African Americans here try hard to be amongst themselves. I cant figure it out. I know its definately not that way in Houston.
Interesting you feel that way. I found that they white community seems to move farther and farther away from the central city districts of Dallas and Fort Worth. The northern suburbs DFW are overwhelmingly white. The Dallas-Fort Worth black community have always found the Southern sector of both Tarrant and Dallas County more attractive than the northern suburbs.

The funny thing is that since 2000, Tarrant and Collin counties have gained more black residents than Dallas county. To me this says that middle class black are doing the exact same thing that middle class whites are. Moving to the suburbs. The fastest growing community in Dallas county is the Latinos by far and away. About 300,000 since 2000. Compared to 35,000 new blacks in Dallas county since 2000.

This is very true. In Dallas County, you have Cedar Hill/Duncanville/Lancaster/Desoto, which have attracted a lot of Blacks. In Tarrant, you haven Mansfield/South Arlington/Crowley, etc., which have done the same.
As a little follow up kdogg, I think maybe part of the reason I have that impression is that I seem to rarely see lots of black and white people hanging out together. I often see whites together with Asians and Latinos and I often see blacks and latinos with each other. Maybe there is something Im missing.
Dallas has the Worlds Largest State Fair, Houston has the World's Largest Livestock Exhibition as well as the richest regular-season PRCA rodeo event.
I'd pick the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo(official name), i mean it draws some big crowds, and attracts a lot of well-known performers. With parades, trail rides, concerts, rodeos, exhibitions, food and livestock competitions, and carnivals, Houston has it all for 20 days....
