The fact that the boroughs are residential means nothing in this case. The attractions might not be top 25 in the whole United States but the attractions that it does have do receive millions of visits. Atlantic city is its own city, which was shaped and molded just for tourism. Its not really saying much.
And people from all over visit these spots. If they get millions of visits a year, im sure its not just new yorkers. Anything else is just hating. The bronx zoo is one of the top zoos in america, given it acts as new yorks premier zoo. Im sure there are more than enough visits from ppl out of town. And im pretty sure the Yankees are more known than almost anything out of new jersey
This is not unique to NYC. In every city, there is a business district (in NYC's case, MANHATTAN), and then residential areas that range from urban to suburban, at the city's outer limits.
What other city has the amount of energy and vibrance outside its city center. For instance queens blvd and Fordham road are some of the busiest shopping districts in the world
People dont need to spend money in the community for a landmark to be recognized. Thats ridiculous

Okay, so AC was built for tourism. What difference does it make, it's still one of the most heavily visited. It was for a long time America's premier resort (and still is the second-largest US gambling market).
Sure, Qns and the outer-boroughs get their loads of visitors, but on the same token that's not really saying much either.
Yanks more known than NJ? I doubt one could draw a conclusion by word-of-mouth.
There is nowhere else in NYC that has the energy of Manhattan.
I'm not familiar with the Bronx-ese language. What is the deal with the excessive use of the phrase "hating"? Haters, hating, etc, etc. Is this ghetto-speak?

- Its the state of new jersey's number one tourist spot. Its a city built to resemble las vegas. The boroughs are not cities and are not built up that way.
- How is that not saying anything. What city gets that outside its main downtown district. What city has that much hustle and bustle(downtown brooklyn,grandconcourse/fordham,queensnlvd/jamaica ave...) outside its downtown. Nyc does and the boroughs attractions receive millions of visits each year. More impressive than a knock off fake eastcoast las vegas. The boroughs are add ons to manhattans greatness, yet they still have more going on than alot of cities
- I dont know about the state itself. Though im sure people around the world would recognize the yankees before they knew what a new jersey is. The yankees are more known than any single "thing" in NJ however. City, institution etc
And i dont think ive ever said the boroughs have as much energy as manhattan. As a new yorker i think i should know. The boroughs do have more energy than some cities i've visited. If manhattan wasnt apart of my city i would probably feel some type of way. But it is.

You say the boroughs attractions are more 'impressive' than a 'fake eastcoast las vegas' (your words) But yet, the top 25 visited spots in the US don't at all include ANY outer-borough attractions. But they DO include that 'fake eastcoast vegas'.
So it may not be impressive to you, but there's certainly more folks visiting AC's attractions then there are outer-boroughs attractions.
If you knew a little history, you would know that AC was America's major tourism destination way BEFORE Vegas was.
LA, Atl, and Orlando alone all have major attractions outside of their downtowns. And some of them are on that list; unlike the outer-borough ones you mention

Your comparing attractions in boroughs compared to a whole city. Ac is a city supported by the state of new jersey to be their number one tourist attraction. And it only ranked number 25. Most likely probably its the only major alternative to las vegas and the closest ppl on the east coast can get. Its a tackier version of las vegas
Besides casinos what attraction does ac have?
What does la and orlando have outside its main districts?

1. Yeah boroughs (the ones you say are more impressive than cities anyway) to a 'whole' city of barely 40,000k.
Yeah, it only ranked 25...in the entire country. The boroughs can't even get that much. No matter where the boroughs rank...it's already under 25. What does that say of outer-borough attractions that get beat by such a 'tacky' place.
2. Besides casinos:
-Boardwalk Hall (UFC, Boxing),
-House of Blues (Eminem, Madonna...way too many to list)
-AC air show: NBC40.net :: News (http://www.nbc40.net/view_story.php?id=10253 - broken link)
The Beasley Firm - Courtroom Buzz (http://www.beasleyfirm.com/beasley_law_firm_press_in_the_news_articles/%22Thunder-Over-the-Boardwalk%22-Attracts-Record-Crowd/37 - broken link) (over 700,000 people...in a SINGLE event.)
-Jay-Z's famed 40/40 club (the only other one in the metro is in Manhattan, I believe there aren't more than 10 in the nation)
-and of course: the beach
AC definitely has grimy areas...but so does every single outer-borough. That doesn't stop the boroughs from drawing visitors...and it doesn't stop AC from drawing visitors either

Hahahaha, "whole city" ? Yes, the whole "city" of Atlantic City, which has a whopping 35,000 residents! The boroughs have 6 Million people, and about 120x the land mass of AC, and yet the boroughs couldn't come up with a tourist destination that beats AC?

And remember how he touted the population of the boroughs saying they would be heavy-hitters if they were their own cities.
PS: Orlando has Univ Stud (on the top 25 list) and Seaworld (also on the top 25).

please. you're from jersey. i know that you know that that is a rhetorical question because you are well aware of the answer.
