Yes, what we need is a trip to suburbs. Just for the enlightment.
Yes, you do. In every place on the planet culture forms in big cities not suburbs. You need certain human critical mass for culture to develop. That's why artists tend to migrate to art districts as oppose to staying in small towns and suburbs. New Jersey failed to developed its own cities, it actually abandoned them hence no cultural movement ever started there.
Just an example, the Bronx created hip-hop culture, Brooklyn gave American the Italian-American saga perpetuated by Scrosese, Pacino, Saturday Night Fever and Godfather. What was left for New Jersey is leech off New York, which you do all the time.. Even Sopranos were filmed in a studio in Queens. That's what you get for being an endless suburbia.
The outer boros on the other hand are a super dense and diverse area inhabited by some 6.5 million people. Go figure...
Well now you're just ranting. Must be the after-effect of the realization that no one wants to visit the outer-boroughs.
It's not *sniff* fair to compare *sniff* Qns and BK to Atlantic City *sniff*
Where in the boroughs is a yearly event that draws 600-700k people (a single event at that)?
You always twists things beyond recognition.
When I was referring to the outer boroughs as mere counties, I was just simply stating that they all work and play in Manhattan just as much as nearby NJians. NJ is independent otherwise just as much as your beloved boroughs. (I'm a proud NJian, I honestly don't need NYC nearby, but since it's there, I might as well benefit.) But I'm sure Manhattanites go to Jersey for what it has to offer more so than the outer boroughs. Quote and argue me on that.
When the 5 borough system was created, the population became more significant, that was mainly the take off. If it never happened, the outer boroughs would be in NJ or LI's situation.
Yea, we leech NY's culture. It's either that or it's all the NYers who spill into NJ and corrupt it.
No this thread was made because you started off bashing NJ thinking it was OK because your a NYer, and everyone knows if your from NYC your the greatest thing alive! Basically, you made this thread to reap what you sow.
As a NEW YORKER i could careless where Manhattanites go. Its vice versa and applies to all 5 boroughs. Bronxites, brooklynites etc are not in the same boat as new jerseyans just because we dont directly live in manhattan
The citys population which mainly resides in the boroughs, had a major part in the creation of nys greatness
No jersyans dispected the boroughs, thinking .hit is sweet, without manhattan. This thread was created to show that its not. The boroughs can go up with jersey without manhattan

Hey man, sober up before posting. What does this post even mean? LOL. It's either the Jack Daniels, the 40 oz of malt liquor, or those world-renowned outer borough public schools.

A trip to the suburbs to see family, yes.
But I'm also referring to NJ malls with no sales tax on clothing (mainly in Bergen County) You NYers made shopping extremely difficult at the Garden State Plaza this holiday season with all the traffic and crowding, and the shore, another place NYers crowd every summer by the millions.
People from Newark, Paterson, and Jersey City have a lot of pride in their cities. Are you aware of this or are you too busy thinking everyone wants to be a NYer?
NJ isn't dense and diverse!? The ignorant NYers live on
I agree you can't really expect New Jersey to come up with anything: not a baseball team, not own culture and definetely not a big succesfull city... Again, are you really pitching the endless NJ suburbia agianst a 400 years old, extremely dense and diverse city inhabited by some 6.5 million people? Suburbs versus a city? You expect to win?
I won't even reply to this laughable claim...
Yeah, it started there and left shortly after. What happened? Today Queens has two big movie studios and New Jersey has none. How's that for cultural relevance?
Brothersinarms, why can't you reply to the claim that Jersey City is home to more artists than SoHo? You say it's laughable ... why? Surely you know that JC, that booming city that you see on the other side of the Hudson whose growing skyline can be seen from the West Side Highway, is a huge artist community, right? Can you prove BPerone's claim to be false?

Na its the lack of jersey hippness that got you. Im guessing the "S?it is sweet thing" went over your head. SMH
Well for the boroughs we have brooklyn tech and Bronx science.
And to answer nexus. The boroughs do have parades that draw that much. The carribbean parade in brooklyn and the puerto rican parade(consisting of mainly bronx and brooklynites) draw big.
It's BPerone's statistic ... I did not fact-check it, but since brothersinarms openly disputed it, I pointed at him to fact-check it!
