Anyways, there's about 43 hospitals in the Houston city limits. This includes the 13 in the Texas Medical Center.

In the metro area, there are 115 hospitals.

Shands Children's has a different phone number otherwise it's the same hospital as Shands UF. Shands Vista is a psychiatric hospital and shares a campus with Shands Rehab. So no, there really aren't 7 hospitals in Gainesville.

This isn't a research paper for publication its an internet forum. You should be happy I gave any source unlike half the posters here that just make up numbers to suit their needs. When I can easily track down real sources I do.
