14 additional murders today and Juarez has passed the 100 mark for the year so far. Tijuana is at 47 for the year.

There have been three murders in Tucson this year, all of which took place on New Year's Day.

Juarez is out of control. 100 murders in 10 days? If they continue on that track they'll end up with almost 3,700 in a city that's the size of San Diego, or 1 out of every 270 residents dead by year's end.

Ridiculous.

3 murders (all at one residence) so far in Phoenix for 2010 (as of 1/11).

Phoenix expects (if trend continues) to have under 100 murders in 2010...

Trends:
2007 - 222
2008 - 169
2009 - less than 130 (estimate by Phoenix PD; total released later this month)

I get it from a variety of sources, mostly from AP, but lately, two of the largest newspapers in Mexico have been providing this information, which takes a bit of time to dig up, but the info they provide always cooberates with other sources that I have accessed as well.

I get some of the info off of the online El Paso newspaper, they usually have daily updates about the killings in Juarez.
