wow new Orleans did have a quite summer, cause not to long ago when you were posting the numbers new Orleans had a great increase over 2009 and now its the opposite.
I think the new police chief just might be the real deal. If the trend continues we may start seeing pre 1970's numbers for years to come.
Rochester, NY has had 34 homicides so far this year.
I wonder if any of the 'usual suspects' have seen a reduction in crime this year (i.e. Detroit, Gary, Flint, etc.)?
Last time I checked (about 3 weeks ago), Flint had seen a HUGE increase in homicides so far this year with 40 already (I am sure it is 45 by now). Hell we can attribute 5 of those murders to the serial stabber who also wounded 18 others in Flint alone.

in my opinion seriel murders should not count as part of the homicide count of the city , just like 9/11 murders did not count for the homicide number of 2001.

Either way, that is still a HUGE number for a city as small as Flint.
