I think S.F. has the best downtown by far. However, I like Seattle's skyline the best. I like the Columbia Center (it's BOA now, right?), the Space Needle, and the rest of the buildings in that lush, green landscape with the Mountains in the distance. Seattle gets the not for one of the best Skylines in the world in My opinion. There's a reason Seattle's Skyline graces half of the City-Data banner on the top of the page.

In order mine go like this:
1)Seattle (by quite a bit)
2) San Francisco
3) L.A.
4) PDX
5) San Diego

I actually like SFs skyline better from a distance than Seattle's. You can see how much more dense, vast, and substantive it is.

Seattle. In my opinion it's not really close: Seattle is one of the nicest skylines in North America, if not the world. San Francisco's...isn't.

Yeah, even as a Seattle native, I will agree that SF is more dense. However, Seattle is more striking, with jutting talls competing with the Space Needle, Mt. Rainier, and two snow-capped mountain ranges. Quite unique in North America, and perhaps the world.

its prettier and has a mediterranean feel to it...it is nice approaching it on ferry from larkspur etc. but it lacks in height imo.
