Which state do you think is more beautiful naturally?
California, hands down.
While Alaska has the size, it doesn’t come close to the diversity that California offers. Unless someone is just captivated by a gazillion square miles of tundra and stunted trees…
I think Alaska get's overlooked here (understandably, this is an urban-themed message board and Alaska is anything but urban) but people here in the lower 48 forget what a rare gem we have up north.
Yeah, I'm basing my vote of of CA's diversity. I keep hearing AK is more diverse than CA, prove me wrong. I've just seen the pics of the EXTREME diversity of CA, so prove us wrong, especially for how much smaller CA is then AK.
As someone who lived in Alaska for 10 years and has visited friends and family in California on many occasions, Sequoia and warm beaches are the only thing that California has over Alaska in regards to natural beauty. It is no contest that California is second among all 50 states, but anyone who for even a second thinks California has more natural beauty hasn't been or even looked up Alaska. Basically imagine anything you have seen and take it up a notch.
It sounds like you have seen more of Alaska than California. I'm in Oregon and visited California a few times, and have seen much more down there than you described. With all the land mass in Alaska, though, there should be a lot of scenery to choose from.
Does Alaska have any cool deserts or rock formations? Did you ever spend time around Trinity County, in CA, or the Smith River, for example?
What would you say are the nicest looking agricultural regions in Alaska?
