I saw the Gateway and assumed San Fran. My bad. I wouldn't want to be associated with that anchor on the American economy that still insists on lecturing the rest of the country on how to run it's business.
Which food scene is better? New Orleans gets a LOT of praise, especially for being a small city, so I wonder if it is a better/worse food city than L.A.
I find it difficult to believe that Nola can compete with L.A.'s variety, but I'm open to all opinions
Only been to New Orleans once and I was disappointed with the food, but that was based on a 2-3 day visit and I didn't really eat an any high-end places...plus I hate cajun food, so I will withhold judgement.
variety, ethnic food, quality, top restaurants, etc. etc.
Go!
I am going to go with New Orleans on this one.
Its funny, despite the fact that Los Angeles and its metro area is so much larger than New Orleans, you rarely hear of food culture or dining in the Los Angeles area. It just does not seem to get mentioned. This is in contrast to New Orleans, which obviously is justly famous for its food scene.
On the topic of food, I seem to remember a bizzare proposal 10 years ago (?)to ban outdoor barbecues in the Los Angeles area (supposedly to cut down on air pollution). Did this ridiculous proposal ever pass?
