[quote=Native17;14684427]okay so the 3 people that voted for Jacksonville are the southern folks! (country)[/quote
Ah ahm nawt, bless yore hart! California's my place, but Jax is great, and many small towns in North Florida are darn nice too. I've lived in a plenty of cities, lots of towns too, and Jax compares nicely. And "county" isn't all bad either...
As much as I love Florida, Jacksonville is just like ugh -_____-. JAX Beach is nice though imo. The city is kinda boring, there's still dirt roads in some parts too which doesn't bother me it just seems odd, some parts have no street lights so it gets very dark at night. I don't know, I'd sooner live here than many other places but not Fort Lauderdale lol. I love Fort Lauderdale, it's easily one of my favorite Floridian cities.
The biggest stereotype that comes out of South Florida and Miami to be specific is that you HAVE to know Spanish. This is not true, there are plenty of people who are bilingual or don't even know Spanish at all. I agree that North Florida is still Conservative and backwards while the rest of Florida is more Liberal Democratic especially South Florida. Jacksonville might have nicer people, but everywhere has it's good with it's bad. I'm wondering why your moving from Orlando to Las Vegas though if you don't mind me asking?
Speaking of knowing spanish in SoFL, I noticed while watching the Rays/Marlins game that the Marlins changed their uniform to the LOS Marlins, lol. That stereotype has some truth to it .

Lol, I think they do that in all of the cities with high hispanic influences. If you noticed during the NBA season LA, Miami, San Antonio, Houston, Chicago, and New York all wear jerseys like "Los Lakers" and "El Heat" for example for their Hispanic Heritage night. That was just a one night thing, you probably won't see "LOS Marlins" again until next year.

And Phoenix to I noticed that as well as NBA is my fav sport.

Hahaha, I've been gone for 4 days and I see this thread of mine came back alive.
I really like Fort Lauderdale as well, it's truly a shame it lives in Miami's shadow so much... it would be a great alternative if more people knew of it when they visit Miami.
