Those would be the criteria. Please keep this civil and on topic, discussions about certain aspects of a city are okay, but please don't boast about or bash a city not in this thread.
I think both are great for everything you said. San Diego may be more diverse, but both cities could work on getting in more minorities, to be honest. I definitely think that San Diego has better weather, with it's 300 days of sunshine and average temperature of 70F. I also love all the tropical plants in San Diego, and the beaches (San Diego has much warmer water than Portland). But Portland is very pretty, and I like all the lush greenery and mountains. San Diego has nice mountains, but it is way too dry.
Nice 2 year bump. I'd pick San Diego to live but...
- Growth Portland
- Diversity (food) Portland
- Diversity (Economy) San Diego
- Diversity (People) San Diego
- Education San Diego
- Professional sports San Diego
- Parks/Recreation San Diego
- Waterfront San Diego
- Skyline San Diego
- Public transportation Portland
- Airport eh...
- Natural Scenery toss up
Location: northern Vermont - previously NM, WA, & MA

Yes I know, I remember when Danny was posting here and he has been gone a good long while (I liked him, hope he's doing well). I'm just noticing a trend of Portland vs. some unusual matches(Houston, Atlanta, etc) lately here so I added a little humor to it. EJ, Arkansas is gonna go gang busters on Portland!
