The redbirds were cool, and call me crazy, but I actually liked when New York trains had graffiti on them, some of the artwork was impressive and it gave them a gritty look.

i dunno, there is nothing about any system listed that aesthetically pleases me. i have to agree with the poster above me. london, paris, berlin, tokyo, rome (heh...graffiti lovers unite), germany, um...australia, etc. have waaaay better subways when it comes to look.
as far as the best looking subway in america...eh...they mostly all look like variants of what we have in nyc and thats a bad thing IMO. we have to have the most plain trains on the planet. our trains from the past are way better looking. *sigh*
