You know what I always liked about the PATH and certain subway cars, the fact that in the winter, the heater is directly located beneath the seat and really warms you're legs and hind end. I half wonder if that's where they got the idea of "heated seats" from.

I know exactly what your talking about. I have no clue if thats where it came from though.
there are no subway cars in the u.s. worthwhile IMO as far as look.
aesthetically, everywhere but the u.s. has cool looking subway trains.
and yes, i say this as a nyer. our trains haven't looked cool IMO since about 1988ish. i guess you could count the redbirds that were retired in 2003...
They are all pretty ugly. I'll vote for the EL because like so many have said, the announcements are great and the ding dong when the doors close is a nice feature.
I'll also vote for BART, because it's funny that BART has so many votes.
Also one for San Juan, a noble effort by our commonwealth friends.
Yeah BART has to be the worst I've seen in the country. Almost like something you'd see in Tokyo or something, and IMO that's not a good thing when talking about trains. I hate those rocket ship looking trains they use overseas especially Japan, they have no classy "subway" look to them.
