Both cities have the same number of sister cities (11)
Both cities have been given a lot of attention for crime
Both cities have had a super bowl win in the start of a decade Baltimore (2000) & New Orleans (2010)
Baltimore was the first city to cross the 100,000 population mark after NYC, New Orleans was 3rd.
Both cities have been in the top 10 largest cities by population and have held it for decades.
Also, both cities are getting/got the David Simon treatment (The Wire for Baltimore and Treme for New Orleans).
Now this is the stuff I like. Baltimore is a beautiful city, but New Orleans is in a league of its own. Baltimore is strongly influenced by other places close by; DC, Philly, Richmond, Arlington etc. whereas New Orleans sits pretty much down there all by itself with no immediate larger metros to dilute its individuality (Baton Rouge doesn’t count; same feel for the most part).
Both cities have character, old world charm and diverse architecture from a historical standpoint, but New Orleans leaves you feeling as if you could be outside the US. Steeped with history and dripping with eccentricity, New Orleans is the easy pick.
I would most likely choose Baltimore as my place of residence though because of obvious safety concerns with New Orleans, and also because of the easy access to some of the larger aforementioned places close by. But those are the only reasons why!

I'm glad you're a fan of my threads! I try to be as unique as possible!!
I agree, they're both nice cities, very underrated cities, but NOLA really has a unique vibe that no other city in this world possibly has. Which really does set it apart.

This is a good one...they even look comparable from the photos. I've visited both places and never once thought about comparing them, so this is great.
New Orleans all day, but I guess it depends on what your personal preferences may be. Keep up the good work!
