I have to ask GLS knowing you just graduated from high school I can't imagine you're even 21 yet. So how well could you possibly know the nightlife of places? Not to talk down or anything but I sure wouldn't have been on a forum arguing where the best nightlife is before I was even legal..

Then you should visit DT Tampa's new Curtis Hixon waterfront park. Its practically the lawn of the new Tampa Mueum of art and the Glazer's Children Museum. Its located on the Hillsborough river and has great views of the University of Tampa and the DT skyline. Its part of the under constuction Tampa Riverwalk, a linear park which will connect all of DT Tampa. It has a dog park, a futuristic playground, fountains, art fixtures, and concert stage. It also has a stop for Tampa's river taxi with can take you all over Tampa's waterfront. I think this park can easily go toe to toe with Orlando's lake eola park.

In terms of shopping, restaurants, nightlife, activity, etc; the order to me is:

Ft. Lauderdale
St. Petersburg
Orlando
Miami
Tampa

I've never been to Downtown Jax, or Downtown Daytona, so I can't comment on those two.

The new waterfront park in Tampa is an AWESOME addition. I was living in Tampa when it was merely a concept. WTG Tampa!

Ft Laud and St Pete over Orlando and Miami? I doubt most people would pick it that way.

If I recall, this is a forum where people are entitled to their opinions. I'm not required to think like "most people". Good for them. I have my opinion, they have theirs. While I'm the most impressed by Miami's skyline, I still say that the amenities of St. Pete and Ft. Lauderdale are pretty good for their size. If I were judging just by skyline alone, Miami would've won. I do like DT Orlando and what it has to offer though.

The OP asked:

That's a very nice, modern looking park. I'm gonna have to go there sometime. I just like the natural beauty of Lake Eola Park mixed with the man made buildinds in the background and fountain in the lake, with people riding in the swan paddle boats. I think lake eola park is much larger. Both are great parks though.

Lake Eola is better for nature while Curis Hixon is more of an urban park. Both are very nice. I like the swan boats at LE. When you said Lake Eola is better then anything Tampa had, that would be true a couple of years ago, but I wondered if many people were even aware of some of the new additions to Tampa's downtown, Curtis Hixon park being one of them.
