This is one of my all-time favorite city-data threads. It's so much fun to read, even if I only recognize half the references. And how cool that you've kept it alive for such a long time.

Yeah, I like to call it "pop" just to get a reaction out of people...

Sounds alright. I call it pop because my father is from the Midwest and that is what I grew up hearing from him. I have no intentions of changing that.

Being from Ohio originally, it will always be "pop" to me lol. I noted in N.Y. and here in AK. people call it soda.

Gawd I miss that place and their amazing deals!
Now I sure miss Marcs also. When I lived in Cleveland I went every weekend to the one there in Brooklyn. When in Ohio earlier this year I made sure I went a couple of times.

Great thread, it's nice to see this still going after 2 years.

I was just reading through this again and saw several people mention Mr Hero. What's funny is I didn't know that was just a Cleveland/NE Ohio thing for a long time.

Ones that stick out in my mind are the one on W25th and Clark, Denison, E76th and St Clair, South Elyria, and Leavitt and Erie in Lorain.

There was also one (and I think it's still there) on about 70th and Denison before you would turn left onto Ridge Rd. When we were in Cleveland earlier this year we stopped at the one there in Brooklyn; first time my husband ever had a Roman Burger. He loved it!

I believe there's that one and another on Denison around W91st. Funny how they would have them so close together.

I believe they're still open. I was just on Denison but wasn't paying attention to that at the time so I could be wrong.

I agree that the Roman Burgers and most of their food is great, including their signature waffle fries and the cheese dip. I'm not a huge fan of fast food (it is good though) but I've always liked Mr Heros.

Well now I've made myself hungry. Up here we have a Subway (not real crazy about them) and we have a Quiznos, which is pretty good. But I do prefer the philly cheese steak and romanburgers and waffle fries from Mr. Hero. I also love Skyline Chili.
