Construction has started on downtown Goldsboro's 14 million dollar rehabilitation project on six downtown buildings bringing 60 new apartments and mix use retail space the group of buildings targeted includes the vacant 10 story Old National Bank building which will be converted into over 40 apartments with retail on the street level floor.

Yeah, they're moving in to the old Acme building on US-117 beside Dollar General. It's good to finally see jobs coming to northern Wayne. That area really needs all the help it can get. I just hope they're prepared for Fremont's notoriously high utility rates.

Fremont and the WCDA have been trying to get businesses (such as a warehouse) to come near the I-795 interchange, but it hasn't panned out so far.

Aldi is moving into the former Bed, Bath, & Beyond building at Berkeley Commons. It's expected to open in June.
