Does Colorado have registration reciprocity with any/all other states. I paid a year's registration in another state in August and would like to not do that again. When I moved to that other state a few years ago, they credited toward my new registration what I'd paid in the previous state.

There is an "ownership tax" which is also paid every year as part of your registration. That's the amount that goes down every year because the car value is down. That part is tax deductible if you file long form taxes. This year, the state passed an increase in auto fees by about $45 to help refill depleted coffers.

I need to register a car in Colorado that was giving to me by a family member , how much do I have to pay in taxes for a car that was giving as a gift?
