I don't really have a dog in this fight, but over the time I've been researching Colorado as a place to settle, I've found jazzlovers posts to be quite knowledgeable and accurate, as well as appropriate to the questions asked.

I'm afraid many people in America today have very limited attention spans. If the idea can't be communicated in brief, concise "soundbites" they glaze over. That's one of the reasons we have become rather stupid as a nation. Many have become resentful of those with real knowledge and belittle what they don't understand or that they disagree with.

Most of Jazz's posts are like a smackdown, but there's no doubt people can learn from them, too.....I file em in the "noted" and continue on.....No matter where you live, you only get back what you put into it, and usually requires compromises.......

I don't think it's different from any other time in history and the glazing over is due to an absence of good rhetoric. It's naive, imo, to expect someone to spend fifteen minutes studying your writing when you haven't established your credibility. None of us are that important.

Democracy in action.

Notice how all of the most expensive states are highly liberal. I fear with the implants from California, we'll be in the top 10 sooner than later.

Agree. Jazz has a bit of an ax to grind, and I know he's not fond of the front range, but most of what he writes is factual and he's a good source of information.

in response to jazzlovers quip that
What none mention is the cost of living vs. what local incomes are. In that realm, Colorado does not fare so well--not the worst, but far from the best.
Viper2 replied: Nice Try.

It's more than a nice try Viper...It's reality.

EG: lets say that the average home costs $500,000 and the average income is $100,000 in one location and in another location, the average home costs only $250,000, BUT...the average income is just $40,000. In the first location the cost of the home is 5 times the annual income, and in the second location a much less expensive average home cost 6.25 times the average income. Now don't get hung up on the numbers in my example because I pulled them out of thin air. My point is that comparing costs only without factoring in the % of income, can be very misleading and....very expensive.

If it was me paying the mortgage I would much prefer to have my mortgage payment eating up a smaller percentage of my income, but if you'd rather pay the higher percentage...then go for it!
