48 degrees rain this morning.

A wet start to the week can be expected as deep sub-tropical moisture continues to stream northeast across the region between a low pressure system to our west and high pressure to our east. This will result in the potential for heavy rainfall, especially across portions of southeast Utah and extreme southwest Colorado. The wet weather persists through much of the week...although some drying is expected Friday and into the weekend. Expect cooler conditions with mountain temperatures generally in the 60s to lower 70s...with 70s to lower 80s for the valleys.

Today is the last day of the extreme heat for the year! It was a great summer and I enjoyed all the days over 100 but now I'm ready for fall with cooler temps. In fact the rest of the week is should be in the 70s and maybe 80s during the day with lows in the 50's.

Good bye summer heat see you in 2014!

Rain... It's raining here and on my beloved San Juans. We've had some good rain storms here recently. Water is a gift of grace these days in the Four Corners. So very glad to receive it!

It has been a totally fabulous day in Grand Junction today, with temps in the lower 60s and a most pleasant steady rain. A liquid blessing from the Sky Spirit is being showered upon us!

RAIN DANCE LYRICS!

Fall on Me

…Feathers hit the ground before the weight can leave the air
Buy the sky and sell the sky and tell the sky and tell the sky

Don't fall on me (What is it up in the air for) (It's gonna fall)
Fall on me (If it's there for long) (It's gonna fall)
Fall on me (It's over it's over me) (It's gonna fall)

There's the progress we have found (when the rain)
A way to talk around the problem (when the children reign)
Building towered foresight (keep your conscience in the dark)
isn't anything at all (melt the statues in the park)
Buy the sky and sell the sky and bleed the sky and tell the sky

Don't fall on me
Well I could keep it above
But then it wouldn't be sky anymore
So if I send it to you you've got to promise to keep it whole
Buy the sky and sell the sky and lift your arms up to the sky
And ask the sky and ask the sky…

- R.E.M.

Like the Deserts Miss the Rain

I ask why did I come again
Can I confess?
I've been hangin' 'round your old address
And the years have proved
To offer nothin' since you moved
You're long gone
But I can't move on

And I miss you
Oh-oh (Like the deserts miss the rain)
And I miss you, yeah
(Like the deserts miss the rain) And I miss you

I step off the train
I'm walkin' down your street again
Pass your door
I guess you don't live there anymore
It's years since you've been there
And now you've disappeared somewhere
Like outer space
You've found some better place

And I miss you
(Like the deserts miss the rain)
And I miss you, yeah
(Like the deserts miss the rain)
And I miss you, and I miss you
(Like the deserts miss the rain)
And I miss you, yeah
(Like the deserts miss the rain)

Deserts miss the rain
(Like the deserts miss the rain) Like the deserts miss the rain
(Like the deserts miss the rain)…

- Sade

Like the Rain

I never liked the rain until I walked through it with you
Every thunder cloud that came was one more I might not get through
On the darkest day there's always light and now I see it too
But I never liked the rain until I walked through it with you

I hear it falling in the night and filling up my mind
All the heaven's rivers come to light I see it all unwind
I hear it talking through the trees and on the window pane
When I hear it I just can't believe I never liked the rain

Like the rain I have fallen for you and I know just why you
Liked the rain always calling for you I'm falling for you now
Just like the rain

When the cloud is rolling over thunder striking me
It's as bright as lightning and I wonder why I couldn't see
That it's always good and when the flood is gone we still remain
Guess I've known all along I just belong here with you falling

Like the rain I have fallen for you and I know just why you
Liked the rain always calling for you, I'm falling for you now
Just like the rain I have fallen for you
I'm falling for you now just like the rain

And when the night falls on our better days
And we're looking to the sky
For the winds to take us high above the plains
I know that we'll find better ways to look into the eye of the storms that will be calling
Forever we'll be falling…

- Clint Black

Getting a bit giddy out here from all this water! Probably should get some sleep.

We had more than 8/10 of an inch of rain yesterday in Grand Junction, setting a new precipitation record for the date, shattering the old record of 54/100 back in 1924.

Nice steady rain in downtown Pueblo and its only in the upper 60's!

Not as nice as a snow picture but I thought I would post one anyway.
