I have to agree with you. Augusta is a bigger market than Columbus. I mean by a long shot too.

See let me show you.

The Census ACS 1-year survey reports that the median household income for the Augusta-Richmond County Georgia metro area was $44,761 in 2012, the latest figures available

Augusta Georgia Household Income | Department of Numbers

The Census ACS 1-year survey reports that the median household income for the Columbus Georgia metro area was $42,972 in 2012, the latest figures available

Columbus Georgia Household Income | Department of Numbers

44,761-42,972=1,789 difference!

Who said I was proud? Merely pointing out that your logic doesn't make sense. Walmart has nothing to do with Costco not coming to Columbus. No need to get hostile.

Acutally its quite the opposite. A competitive market is one in which multiple businesses compete for business. If Walmart has a stronghold in Columbus as you claim, then it is NOT a competitive market. Therefore its hard for other businesses to compete against them which is actually a negative not a positive.

Did I say anything about Wal-Mart being the reason Costco hasn't come yet? No need to post Augusta stuff in the Columbus forum

If you didnt' then I wasn't talking to you....but your partner Columbus92 sure did and that's who I was talking to. Again no need to get hostile.

I will say it again, if Walmart is the reason why Costco is not coming to Columbus, then they shouldn't have come to Augusta either. I stand by my point.

The Peachtree Mall food court has picked up a couple of new eateries, although the mall also lost one of its full-service restaurants recently.

Mall general manager Chris McCoy said Thursday Charleys Philly Steaks and Villa Fresh Italian Kitchen opened a couple of weeks ago inside the court.

The Villa Fresh website says its first pizzeria opened in 1964 adjacent to Ed Sullivan Theater on Broadway and the chain has grown to more than 225 locations. Its menu has, of course, pizza. But entrees include lasagna, chicken parmesan, baked ziti, and spaghetti and meatballs. An oversized stromboli, which is somewhat like a calzone, salads, hot sandwiches and cookies round things out.

Charleys Philly Steaks, which also goes by Charley’s Grilled Subs in some markets, serves up various steak, chicken and deli sub sandwiches, bacon-cheese fries and lemonade. It has more than 500 locations.

Based on their other locations, I'm pretty sure we meet Costco's location requirements and based on the number of people I know that want one it definitely would be profitable. However like mentioned earlier there are a lot of factors they look at. The only people who really would know if they plan to locate here or not are at the Costco corporate offices.

I remember hearing about a new pizza place opening to replace Sabarro. I'm going to miss Johnny Carino's. I hope something nice comes in that location.

We'll be moving to Cataula in 17 days. I will desperately miss having a Costco nearby :-(

That Villa Fresh sounds exactly like Sbarro. Does PT mall have a Sbarro?
