Looks like CSU is building some new dorms. https://www.bidclerk.com/project/3013600.html Don't remember any mention of this. Anyone got an idea where that would go?

No, these are going to be on campus on Clearview Circle - these are the private sector, owned by someone else, and operated by them - but they get the tax breaks that schools get, simply because they are being used for education. This is the law that recently passed:

Quote:
Allows property owned by the University System of Georgia and operated by providers of student housing and other facilities to remain exempt from taxation.

House Bill No. 788
Act No. 613

I've highlighted the location of the dorms according to the CSU master plan above. My guess is they'll start with the 3 buildings closest to University Ave because the additional 3 buildings would require (1) them to tear down Clearview Annex (2) close part of one of the biggest parking lots on campus. They'l want to add another Parking Garage (on the long-term plan), next to the Tennis Court complex within the next 5~ years.

Aldi just filed some plans for contractors to start bidding out for the old Lowe's on Veterans, so looks like regardless of what Adam's is doing, they're looking to move forward, even if that means that the other will be built on later?

I just drove by there and noticed the concrete in the lot has been partially removed, so they are at least starting work on the lot.

It looks like they will be changing a lot of the roads on campus around Clearview Circle based on that plan. I compared it to the view on google earth and I see quite a few changes.

Oh yeah they'd be closing the road going up the hill to where the new dorms. Loss of a lot of parking spaces.

I'll post the long term plan later, its crazy - almost all the big parking lots will be cleared for green space + future buildings I assume.
