Let's see why.

-Lack of sidewalks in the majority of the city's streets and neighborhoods.
-Lack of neighborhood public parks for the majority of the city's neighborhoods, especially the newer subdivisions.
-Driving required to access a public park for the majority of residents.
-One bowling alley.
-Limited conventional grocery options, Piggly Wiggly, Winn-Dixie, Publix, Wal-Mart, and Save-A-Lot.
-Outdated road infrastructure. Many roads like Milgen Rd have the room for a dedicated right turn lane for the many apartment complexes like Hampton Place, Whisperwood, etc, not to mention the need for sidewalks.
-Widening Moon Rd south of JR Allen is better than leaving it as a 2-lane road, but all it really needed were right and left turn lanes.

I wouldn't put a ton of stock into this, but I wouldn't completely dismiss it either. City leaders can use this as a gauge to improve on the city's shortcomings in a very targeted way.

I think it can be said with some kind of accuracy that the couple of pro city responders are either trapped in some way locally or have never traveled much outside of the state etc.
Their answers to pertinent questions on the cities functions and future are very juvenile and childlike overall.
Hopefully they will fade away so the rest of us can carry on more constructive dialogue on the cities future.
Hang in there folks!!

100% agree with all of these things. This is fact, not opinion. Don't really understand how anyone could say this isn't true/doesn't exist. If this was posted under a "what would we like to see/improve in Columbus" thread, you would probably have agreement or support from the very same people who are posting "lol" or disagreeing simply because it's within a thread that talks about what contributes to this city's "misery".

Most y'all just doesn't know Columbus.

-The only side of town that lacks sidewalks is the Northside.
-Lack of neighborhood public parks? I won't even waste my breath on that one.
-What?
-What does having one bowling ally have to do with depression?
-More than enough grocery stores to shop from.

If you don't like it, go back where you came from.

Sorry not sorry.

So keep everything the way it is because that's all you know type attitude. I'm not even insulted by your get out mentality, being that you're a product of Columbus, Georgia. It's to be expected.

It's always the people that live outside the Columbus city proper. Talk down and bash the city then be right inside our stores shopping.

I live in the county. It's always the people in the southside that are coming to the northside to shop in our fancy northside stores. Sounds ignorant doesn't it?
