Ah ok. Thanks for the photo. That's definitely not DVI-I... strange, as when I do a search for the card, everything I find is.
Well that definitely limits your options and answers your question as to why your monitor is not coming on. No analog signal is there because it's DVI-D.

Honestly, you might actually spend less money by getting a new graphics card, rather than buying a new monitor. If you go that route, just make sure it has the ports you need. You can probably upgrade to a better graphics card and still pay less than for a new monitor.

The adapter you'll need to get new monitors, the DVI-D to VGA and then VGA back to DVI-D is probably so you can use a old or long VGA cable that is inside of a wall, either case is not for you.
