Someone e-mailed this to me this morning - thought I'd post it here.

August 15 - Moved to our new home in Connecticut. It's so beautiful here. The ocean & Sound look so majestic. I can hardly wait to see it snow covered. I'm going to love it here!

October 14 - Connecticut is definitely the most beautiful place on earth. The leaves have turned all the colors and shades of red and orange. Went for a ride through the park and saw some deer. They are so graceful. Certainly they are the most wonderful animals on earth. This must be paradise, I LOVE IT HERE!!

November 10 - Deer season will start soon. I can't imagine anyone wanting to kill such a gorgeous animal. Hope it will snow soon. I love it here. Those red and orange leaves have covered my yard. Looks like a magnificent multi-colored carpet. HOW BEAUTIFUL. Raking and cleaning up the yard will be an opportunity for invigorating exercise in the cool crisp air.

November 15 - Ah, more leaves and more exercise. WooHoo!

November 18 - Jesus, still more leaves. Guess it's best to wait until they've all fallen before I rake again.

November 25 - Finally, all of the trees lost their leaves and with today's final raking it's over for this season. Chiropractor suggested I use a lawn maintenance service next year. Only four blisters became infected. Should probably remember to use gloves.

November 30 - What the heck? Where did all of those leaves come from? Had a little wind last night, lost power, and the lawn is covered again. Oh well, they'll just have to wait until spring.

December 12 - It snowed last night, FINALLY. Woke up to find everything blanketed in white. It looks like a postcard. Kids had a snowday - hot coco, baked cookies, watched movies. We went outside and cleaned the snow off the steps and shoveled the driveway. Had a snowball fight (I won) and when the snowplow came by and we had to shovel the end of the driveway again. What a beautiful place. I Love Connecticut!

December 14 - More snow last night, I love it. Kids had another snow day with cocoa, cookies! The snow plow did his trick to the driveway again. I love it here.

December 19 - More snow again last night. Can't get out of the driveway to get to work. Stuck with the kids. ****ing snowplow.

December 22 - More of that white crap fell again last night. Another snow day for the kids - screw hot coco. As if dealing with the leaves weren't bad enough, now I've got blisters all over my hands from shoveling, must remember to wear gloves. I think the snowplow hides around the corner and waits until I'm finished shoveling the driveway. The jerk.

December 25 - Merry ****ing Christmas. More ****ing snow. If I ever get my hands on that SOB who drives the snowplow, I swear to god... Don't know why they don't use more salt on the roads to melt the ****ing ice.

January 4 - More white crap last night. Have cabin fever except for shoveling out the driveway after that plow goes through every time. ****ing gloves got wet and then froze on my hands. Doctor said it was just a mild case of frost bite, disfiguration is probably only temporary. Can't go anywhere, car is stuck in a mountain of white crap. The weatherman says to expect another 10 inches of the crap tonight. Do you know how many shovels full of snow 10 inches is?

January 5 - The ****ing weatherman was wrong. We got 34 inches of that white crap. School was closed, and it took me 2 hours to drive 6 miles today because of morons, then came home. Kids built a snowman, I knocked it down. ****ing ice dams. Water.

January 7 - Finally got out of the house today. Went to the store to get food and on the way back I hit a damned deer that ran in front of my car. Did about $3000 damage. ****ing beasts should be killed. Wish the hunters had killed them all last November.

May 3 - Took the car to the garage in town. The thing is rusting out from all the ****ing salt they put all over the roads.

May 8 - Found out I had Lyme Disease from the ****ing deer.

May 10 - Moved to Punta Gorda, Florida.

Sounds like a summary of this forum. LOL

It's true though. My mindset has gotten pretty bleak. After that scorcher of a Summer where I lost about 30lbs in body weight, we had about 2 weeks of fall before the temps dipped lower than normal and now this crap. Arrrrg! My poor cats are leaving suicide notes around the house.

Literally feel like I went from a Florida Summer to a MN Winter with a month of good weather in between. WTH?

Insert this after after August 15

October 1 – The town property tax bill just came in. Wow. Oh well you get what you pay for. I think they made a mistake because they taxed my cars too. I still love it here - heading to the town hall to get the error fixed.

October 2 – The nice lady at the tax office told me it wasn’t a mistake, but they needed the money to help pay for things like snowplows collect the leaves and salt the roads. That makes sense, we all have to share the burden to keep a place so beautiful.

ETA

February 20 – The tax lady sent me a notice that my property taxes are going up 3% due to revaluation and cost overruns from all the ****ing snow. As if $9,000 per year isn’t enough. Greedy bastards

Pretty funny stuff. The best part was at the end they left, more often than not they stay & try to change everything, though right now change would be a good thing if done right. We could stand to lose another million or two to ease the overcrowding.

After this winter so far, I feel like moving south myself. Sigh. I loved summer 2010 in CT. It was a long, hot, humid, sunny summer. I hope summer 2011 will be the same.

The lyme disease part just hit home for me. Both of my dogs have been limping around like they had arthritis. Took them to the vet and they both have lyme disease. And the thing is, we don't live in the woods. We don't have a tree in our yard. And both dogs only go outside to use the bathroom and then come back in. Still got it.

that's a great email because it really sums up my thoughts on a daily basis these days. Except the moving the FL part. Been there done that. I could write the FL version of the CT post easily, lol.

Lol @ the plows making us go out and shovel again, that is so annoying. Love how they also tear up 2ft potholes so you can wreck your suspension. Finally they are starting to patch some of the holes around my area (bridgeport / stratford).

P.S Success in Bridgeport has been patched up finally! But still some craters.

Yeah, potholes are very bad. They're going to get even worse with the potential rainstorms in Spring.

My beleaguered sense of populism says you should also throw in "Oh, my neighbors are not my best friends!"
