Do your best to avoid 95/91 this weekend. It's going to be a traffic nightmare. On a regular weekend, traffic is heavy - imagine how this will be. Get to whatever side of the bridge you need to go by Friday, and I recommend you stay there until Sunday or Monday if you don't want to sit in hours of traffic.

  • Traffic on 95 north will be reduced to one lane starting Friday at 8 PM, and will remain one lane until Saturday mid-morning. This will stretch from exit 46 to exit 50, and includes the off ramp to 91 north.
  • The following exits will be closed: Long Wharf Drive; I-91 on-ramp to 95 north (closed through Sunday); Exit 50 on and off ramps; and the on-ramp from Wooster Street.

I just realized that for the next two years, there will only be two lanes going in each direction over the bridge. This is bad.

No need for me to worry. I rarely drive all the way down to dirty, filthy, wretched, low-income New Haven.

Me too.

Just don't go this weekend, though.

I'll be sure to stay away from dirty, ghetto Yale from now on.

are you sure about this?
I had read that it would be three lanes in each direction on the south span while the north was built. it seemed plausible, since each span is supposed to carry 5 lanes, presumably with some shoulders, as well.

two lanes each way would suck.

Thanks for the warning. I avoid the 95/91 interchange as much as possible.
