Greetings fellow forum members! Trying to decide between Wilton and Ridgefield. I had hopelessly hoped for a 90 minute breezy commute to downtown Manhattan. Having received my reality check, which one is (modestly) better? Commuting from Ridgefield or Wilton? I know Ridgefield commute means traveling to Katonah or Purdys and Wilton means driving into Westport. I don't know anything about the traffic, parking horrors etc. for either of these options. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Southern Wilton to South Norwalk train station is under 20 minutes door to door. The express trains (which most are during commuter hours) are 52-55 minutes. I can make it to my midtown office in 70-75 minutes most days. Financial district will add 20 minutes or so, but even my Ridgefield friends would agree that Wilton is an easier NYC commute.

Wilton, but living in western Ridgefield within a short trip to Katonah is pretty darn close.

Wilton is probably easier by 5-10 minutes each way. It's a little pricier than Ridgefield I believe.

Stylo is right, but the train from Katonah is ten minutes longer and parking is much more problematic. South Norwalk has multiple outdoor lots and a sizable garage. There are also more trains on the NH line compared to the Harlem line. A comparable home is about 100-125k more in Wilton.

It's much better to live in CT and commute than it is to find a reasonably-priced place in Manhattan itself.

thats a hell of a drive, why not take the Metro North from Danbury, cheaper and less stress on you
