Some good news. It looks like Amazon is accepting applications for jobs at its new warehouse in Windsor. They are looking for over 500 people. Nice. Jay

While I couldn't find stats on retirees specifically .... if one were to use folks over 65 as a proxy ... Connecticut has a higher percent of its population than does SC of over 65 year olds... 15.4 % versus 15.1 % as per the Census Bureau which is approximately the national average.... In addition.. the average age of CT's population is 42 while its 38 in SC...which indicates younger families in SC versus CT.

That is good news. The facility is incredibly massive. It joins Voya and The Hartford as major employers on Day Hill Rd.

With all their myriad connections with the federal government, Virginia could be quite attractive to GE.

The Dept of labor keeps states on unemployment compensation that is paid to people who moved out of CT. I don't remember where to get these stats though.

While it doesn't address retiree's the data is interesting. Since a person who was laid off in CT may move to another state for an opportunity or to search for opportunities.

I also think the census bureau keeps stats on movements from state to state. Although I don't think age is included.

JayCt"He did not get it??? Is his head suck in the sand .."

I'm questioning whether he has a head. This is Jimmy Carter stupid territory he is in now. He was the 1st Dem gov in decades, and a similar fate awaits the party again.

If the race were today, I have no doubt Foley would win..BIG. Just by not being Malloy.
