Exactly..I wasn't even going to comment but you don't need much to get snow to stick. And it hasnt been THAT warm.

Still hard to tell precip type. Depends where you are ..if you are in an interior valley, the cold air may stick around enough to bring freezing rain but I think this is a mostly rain event unless the coastal low is stronger than thought..

I would stay on top of this and keep your guests in the loop. Your in a prime spot for heavy snow at first Saturday night. Still only Wed. So timing is getting ironed out now.

The other issue is where your guests are coming from? North, south, ect.

Do you sit in between 2 hills? On top of a hill? You might be dealing with ice after the snow.

Also good to remember this... If snow falls first, that will keep temps cold with warm air coming in over top. As opposed to no snow the cold can just errode.

Oh. FYI. Models all trended colder past couple days. So back to the snow chance now. Maybe this "is" the beginning of a colder snowier pattern. We won't know till next month. Lol

So now expect snow to start Sat evening then change to rain overnight Sunday morning.

Lol. Because we have

March
April
May
June
July
August
September
October
November without any big snow.

Give me just 3 months a year at least. And we know its not every week either. Only with rare years. We know roads are fine next day. We know we mow the lawn just couple months later. Just give me my 3 months.

We had an uneventful just 2 yrs ago!

Thankfully local guests only -- friends from in town, Sherman, Brookfield, Danbury and Ridgefield. I'll keep an eye on this thread in the meantime. Thanks!

Latest GFS continuing my thoughts and the theme.

GFS12z Sounding for Danbury,CT.

7pm Sat on left showing atmosphere still Dry.
Middle image By 10pm its snowing hard.
Right image By 1am its Raining with temps in the 40s.

Then by 1pm temps are in the 50s with the storm over the Death Lakes.

So basically GFS says it snows hard between 7pm-midnight in Danbury then it starts to warm up and rains overnight and temps continue to warm up into the 50s during the morning/day. 60s up to Philly.

You know.... Southern California getting snow and we aren't? Apparently it had a huge impact on their resources.

My wife went to college near Rochester, NY in the mid-1980s and remembers a day in (she believes) April where 2 days after it was close to 90 (yes, NINETY) degrees sticking snow fell......
