About 5 inches here in North Granby. I waited until 10 to go outside with reports of bitter cold. 2 minutes into snow blowing I was drenched in sweat. Not really any different than one would expect from a January winter day growing up in New England.

4, maybe 5 inches here in Danbury. We didn't get any heavy stuff, although the roads here are still crappy. Little wind at noon now-- sun's out too.

6" ir looked like when I was shoveling this morning. Merritt wasnt too bad. When I got to NY , I could not believe how awful the roads are....on and off the parkway. Its like no one even tried to plow. Hopefully these conditions improve by the end of the day. I actually enjoyed the Merritt more that being off of it this morning........

About 5" fell in the Danbury area....nothing crazy and they did a fair job at plowing the roads. I understand this was a tough storm to forecast, but it was nothing close to what the February blizzard produced.

its not just the weather channel naming storms - WFSB has been doing it for years and they have different names! One would think that NBC would be the one naming storms since TWC is a NBC network - of course, does the Weather Channel actually do weather any more? Or is it all reality series now?

looks like pretty typical post New England winter storm pix - nothing special in terms of amount or type of snow . . .

Not exactly typical from a temp/wind perspective. We haven't seen temperatures similar to today/overnight in at least 25 years. The 30 inches in Essex County, Massachusetts also not typical.

I agree with you on the typical snow, but other than the media hype machine, why are we making it sound like more should have been expected? it was a typical winter storm where the sweet spot happened to be Boston. However, this extreme cold IS unique and worth noting.

who said this would be a monster storm? Not ONCE did I ever see a forecast for more than 6-10 inches...ANYWHERE IN CT. State received from 4-10 inches...dead on except pockets in the southeast part and northwest where it was overdone.
