I drive all over the state for my job. The difference in gas prices is crazy around the state. Still around $3.00 a gallon in the Milford area at many stations.

Meanwhile people up North are enjoying these prices...

It is crazy. I drove through Norwalk yesterday and in one mile, I saw 2.89 and low of 2.59. Makes no sense.

Its all about location and competition. Here in Glastonbury the highest prices are out in East Glastonbury where there no competition. Though on Main Street there is Stop & Shop and Cumberland Farms compete so they are less but still not as cheap as the Berlin Turnpike or at the end of West Street in Rocky Hill. The competition there gives buyers some of the lowest prices in the state. One of the highest prices I ever saw was at the Sunoco Station off I-91 in Cromwell. It was so high I pulled in, took one look and drove a mile down the road and saved 30 cents a gallon. Jay

And fuel provider (oil/gas company).

If a station gets its gas cheaper then the station across the street because they get it from a cheaper provider, then their price is lower. By provider, I don't mean for example, Sunoco vs Mobil, I mean the local distributor providing the station.
