Must just be a special location. So localized Stamford got nothing!

Before the storm came through, nice structure 7:30pm. Thunder and Lightning got weaker as it approached. Must of hit some cooler marine airmass.

Rain drops were huge! Got 0.10" in 10 minutes. Nice summer down pour. Perfect for lawn.

Then it passes overhead and blows up again towards the Westport coast.

I was watching it get closer and closer. Came from Northeast PA but watch it just become this one tiny ball.

My rain drops were huge, I thought was hail but it wasn't. Grabbed this radar from 7:42pm. Pink core = Hail! I was outside and wasn't looking at the radar at the time

It looks like they just missed with the heat wave for Bradley International (BDL) in Windsor Locks. I think they got to 88 degrees.

The sky was darker for a time over New Britain's south end and part of Newington between 4:30 to 6-ish. Didn't even get one drop.

Picked up 0.49" from that. Based off that radar shot you posted, looks like the worst scraped barely to the southwest of me... looks like 123 got hit directly.

To listen to the weathermen, you would have thought we were supposed to have rain and thunder today. We had a family picnic in eastern Connecticut and did not see even a drop of rain. Where did it go and how could they have gotten it so wrong? Jay

Ingredients were much more disorganized than thought. A day earlier it looked like everything was coming together at the right time to form an organized squall line but it quickly fell apart with each model run. However, there were still pop-up storms forming along a line, so it would've been "safe" to go with a rain and thunder prediction anyway. IMO it's not they got it "wrong" more than certain locations got "lucky." It's a gray area

The 11pm news on Channel 2 noted the Westport storm report as an example of how hyper-localized this all was. Just like how most of the boros had a significant thunderstorm but nothing just north of it (I remember from where I was at the time seeing the "big dark cloud" to the south while I had nothing.
